Freshman

Tuesdays- 7pm – LuHo

For Everyone!  Upperclassmen are strongly encouraged to attend!  This small group will allow the freshmen of LSF to grow together in faith and friendship with the old timers as they learn more about each other and dig into God’s Word together.  The first year of college can be a challenge.  We encourage you to join your brothers and sisters in Christ in remembering that you are not alone!

Te Deum

Every Other Tuesday – 8pm

*The next Te Deum will be
Tuesday, April 7th at the house!

—————————

Te Deum means “Praise God” in Latin and that is what this contemporary on-campus service is all about. Sometimes the full Te Deum band provides music and other times there’s just a couple of guitars and bongo drums for a more laid back atmosphere. We often have speakers give messages and other times we conduct small group discussions and “mini-Bible Studies”. We try to keep things fresh so that every Te Deum experience brings something new and exciting. Basically, this is one of Lutheran Student Fellowship’s biggest witnesses on campus and we would love for you to come and check it out….and bring your friends!

*In the spirit of keeping things fresh and exciting, we’re always looking for anyone who is interested in getting involved in Te Deum. If you want to play an instrument, sing, or just run the behind-the-scenes stuff, let us know!

Women’s Ministry

Thursdays – 8:30pm – LuHo

For girls only! The focus of Women’s Ministry is to apply who we are in Christ to our roles and relationships in everyday life. We are going to be in the word, praying, and serving. Join us for great fellowship and discussions as sisters in Christ!
Led by Amanda Jackson and Lynnea Erickson

Men’s Ministry

Saturday – 10:30 am – LuHo

Men’s Ministry is a time for male students to get together and reflect upon God’s word. We will look at the ways Scripture tells us as not only how we as Christian men should live, but how we should live as members of the body of Christ. But that’s not all. It will also be a time to get away from class and to “hang out” and do any number of things from sports related activities to the occasional service events. It will be a fun and Christ-filled time.

Just a few tidbits to keep in mind for all you
incoming freshmen and other new members to LSF:

Freshman Bible StudyThis is a Bible Study is no longer offered exclusively to freshmen! Now for everyone!! It’s held at 7pm every Tuesday night at the LCC and it’s a great way to get to know each other without having to deal with the upperclassmen! Check out this and our other Bible Studies here.

Events – Every weekend LSF has something new going on! Whether it be a game night, service project, hayride, or fundraiser, there’s always something for you to do. Check our events page every week for updates and let us know if you have any suggestions for an activity you’d like us to have. There’s lots of people who’d love to meet you so stop by as often as possible!

Te Deum – Te Deum (which means “Praise God” in Latin) is our bi-weekly prayer and praise service which is held every other Tuesday at 8pm usually in the SUB. We’ve got a full band, lots of songs, and a new message or activity each week. (You can learn more about it here). It’s a fun, fulfilling, non-intimidating way to meet some of the members of LSF and we’d love to see you there!

Adopt-A-Student – This is a program that we do with Faith Lutheran Church where families are connected with students and act as a sort of family away from home. This is a great opportunity for students to slowly get to know members of the congregation, and also a chance to get a free home-cooked meal every once in a while. Sign up at the house either this week or next week or email Hanna at hfh484@truman.edu for more details.

Family Weekend Housing – Just a heads up that we’ll have lots of opportunities for your families to get a glimpse of what LSF is all about the weekend of October 12-14, 2007. If your parents need a place to stay (the hotels fill up quick!!)….don’t panic….families from Faith Lutheran Church will be opening up their homes for anyone who needs a place to crash for the weekend. Email Alison at acm237@truman.edu if you want to sign up or would just like more info.

Contact Sheet – Please make sure to fill out this form so we can keep you informed on everything that’s going on in LSF this year! These can be found at the LuHo during Truman Week events or at church on Sunday. (*This includes both new and returning members so we can get a fresh and accurate list of LSFers for the year.)
