Lutheran Student Fellowship and Faith Lutheran Church have a very close relationship. Most members of LSF worship at Faith on Sunday mornings. Throughout the semester, students from LSF participate in services and other activities such as reading scripture in church, teaching Sunday school, and more!
What can I expect at a Sunday service?
Sunday worship starts at 10:15 A.M. Many people choose to dress up for church, but some people come in blue jeans. Our services are liturgical, meaning they follow a set order of prayers and songs every Sunday. If you’ve never attended a Lutheran church, you may be surprised to find that a lot of the service is sung by the congregation instead of spoken. After the service, there is a time for fellowship with light refreshments, during which you can introduce yourself and chat for a little while. The congregation is very friendly and welcoming. Also, pay attention to the end of the service for any critical LSF announcements.
What kind of church is Faith?
Faith Lutheran Church is a growing, mission-minded, welcoming church in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). In addition to its campus ministry outreach, the church supports a K-6 Christian school and is affiliated with three smaller congregations (Milan, Unionville, and Memphis) in the region. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact the church (660-665-6122) or Pastor David Lukefahr at revluke@sbcglobal.net.
Can I get a ride to church?
Yes, you sure can! Meet at the Lutheran Campus Center at 10:00 A.M. for rides to Faith Lutheran Church. If you have special needs or need different accommodations, we’re happy to help. Just send us an email. Faith Lutheran Church is located at 1820 South Baltimore Street, at the corner of Baltimore and LaHarpe.
